Why does only one side of the heating plate on my Philips sterilizer boil?

The heater is on the right-hand side of the appliance, and as a result you may observe that boiling only occurs on one side of the plate.

This does not affect the effectiveness of the sterilizer. The steam generated by the appliance goes through every corner of baskets to effectively sterilize items inside the appliance.
